What the grades mean
The grade describes how the outside of the item looks. The marks that belong to the grade, and anything beyond them, are written in each item's condition note.
| Grade | What it looks like | Listed now | Shop warranty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grade A | Like new, with hardly any signs of use | 2 items | 6 months |
| Grade B | Light signs of use that do not affect how it works | 2 items | 3 months |
| Grade C | Clear signs of use such as dents or scuffs, but it works normally | 0 items | 1 month |
What we test before an item is listed
- It switches on and starts normally
- Memory is tested and the health of the drive is read
- Screen, keyboard and ports are checked (laptops and all-in-one PCs)
- Battery capacity is read (laptops)
- The outside is inspected and graded as it really is
Anything that fails a check, or does not look as expected, is written in that item's condition note.
Warranty on used items
Used items carry a shorter shop warranty than new ones. Each listing shows its own warranty period, so read it before you order. Claims follow the same steps as for new items.
Defects are written down for you to read
Known defects, missing parts and marks are written in the condition note of each listing and shown again on the product page. Read them before you order.
